Mike Welch is the Vice President, Head of Strategy, Product and Business Development for AT&T AdWorks, the advertising sales division of AT&TEntertainment Group (EG). AT&T AdWorks monetizes advertising inventory across AT&T’s television, online, and mobile platforms. Welch works directly with key partners and technology providers to develop and execute advanced TV and digital advertising offerings that reach target audiences across multiple screens. Prior to joining AT&T AdWorks, Mike held various leadership positions at AT&T. He was Vice President, Sales for the Southwest Region of AT&T Advertising Solutions, where he was responsible for a base of 200,000 customers and $500 million in annual revenue across a five-state region comprised of Texas, Missouri, Oklahoma, Kansas, and Arkansas. He led a 600-person sales team that provided customers with a complete suite of print, online, search, andmobile advertising products that helped brands grow their business. Before that, Mike served as Vice President, Sales Operations for AT&T Advertising Solutions. In that role, he was responsible for consolidating and standardizing the division’s operational support across the U.S. He managed training, IT prioritization and implementation, budgeting/ forecasting/reporting, market assigments/ segmentation, and process improvements. Previously, he served as Vice President, Select Accounts for Business Communications
Services, AT&T Midwest. In that position, Mike led a team of 750 employees in the direct, indirect (distributor), and acquisition channels, responsible for selling voice and data solutions to small and medium businesses throughout Illinois, Michigan, Ohio, and Wisconsin. Those business customers, ranging in size from 10-300 employees, generated annual AT&T revenues of $600 million. Mike started his career with AT&T (Ameritech) in 1997, after spending seven years in sales at the Pillsbury Company, where he was responsible for several key Midwest
Accounts. Mike is extremely active in the advertising community, serving as a board member for both the Interactive Advertising Bureau (IAB) and the Video Advertising Bureau (VAB). Mike graduated from Indiana University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Telecommunications.
